The Forbidden City and CCCWA

Posted by D under family

Day two was spent in hot (but remarkably blue-skied) Beijing, visiting the Forbidden City, doing a tour by ricksha of Hutong and then our visit with the CCCWA (Chinese Center for Children’s Welfare and Adoption).

The girls and Chariman Mao

It’s so much fun to see H2 and S2 hang out with all their new friends (technically they “met” some of these girls on their adoption trip, but I guess that doesn’t really count).

Girl power

And even in our group (green) they weren’t the only twins!

Double twins

This trip I remembered to try to get some family pictures; in the background you can almost see the place where there used to be a Starbucks (those who read this blog nine years ago may remember that).

in the Forbidden City

And finally a rather emotional pictures – the family standing outside the room where the decision was made that we would be a family. The famous “matching room” at the CCCWA.

Thanks for sharing! Hope everyone has a great time. Do remember to take those family pictures, there are so many vacations where I don’t even appear!
