Why the same isn’t always the same

Posted by D under family

Tomorrow K2 will be off to her sock camp and I’ll be alone with the twins.

Shock & Horror!

The Poor Children!

Well, not so fast.

Yes, S2 was sick over the weekend, but she seems to be ok again. Yes, I might be getting the same (at least I have a sore throat and I have often picked up what S2 brought home in the past). But I will not really have the same challenge that K2 usually faces. Instead K2 just told me that

  • all the laundry has been washed
  • all shopping for the week has been done (there’s plenty of milk and coffee for lattes)
  • food has been prepared and put in the fridge or freezer, all with re-heating instructions
  • tons of additional food has been stored in the cupboards, just in case
  • muffins will be freshly baked this evening (just to make double sure no one will starve)
  • potential activities for Friday morning have been identified and posted on the fridge
  • she has tried to find a baby sitter for a couple of hours Friday afternoon
  • the maxivan has been filled up
  • I’m sure I’m forgetting other things that she has prepped…

So it looks like we should be ok here. I still am slightly worried about Friday (daycare is closed) and Saturday morning (no one to join me when I go to toddler tumbling with the two of them). Saturday afternoon K2 will be back. Sunday morning I’ll fly to China…

So… if you happen to be in the Portland metro area, are someone trustworthy and fun and have nothing to do on Friday or Saturday morning… drop me a note :-)

Otherwise – look here for updates on how the girls and I are doing!

Oh brother! Only one spoiled rotten child in your home, and apparently it’s you my dear! Reality never seemed so easy and tasted so good with lattes and muffies? That ain’t roughin’ it. Hm…. will have to prepare a voo doo doll in your recent likeness. Kidding. You’ll ace it. Afterall, you seem to be super dad, non? Hope S2 feels MUCH better soon to make it a real challenge :-) Safe trip K2…
    Your helpful friend.

Hey D. You’re gonna be 100 percent a-okay…..but what the heck….get a babysitter for a couple of those evenings and go to the gym or run and get a really great workout. Will do wonders for you!
Have Fun….Sure hope ya don’t get the bug!

Damn, that K2 is ALRIGHT! I’m going to fly her out to CA to get me ready the next time Rod goes out of town. :-)
