The idea was stolen from M3 - I saw her wall of pictures when we were at her house a few weeks ago. And decided to copy the idea. She had only black and white pictures hanging, but since my most favorite pictures are a mixture of color and black and white I decided not to worry about it for now - maybe in a while I’ll have twelve black and whites for this wall and will collect all the color pictures somewhere else. Till then, it’s a mix of styles and topics…
For those who are curious, the frames are from American Frame, the style is called Standard in Matte Black. They are 15″x15″ frames with 8×10 pictures in them. The pictures were printed at Mpix.com on Kodak Professional Metallic and True Digital B&W Paper (which makes a huge difference to my normal COSTCO prints…).

Your frames look great. Nice work.
We have a similar wall in my living room. I took inspiration from the perpetual wood calendars where you slide the date tiles around to adjust for the next month.
To create a perpetual photo wall that did not require we take frames down to re-do photos when there were new favorites, We started with a 4×8 sheet of plywood. We used a 3/4 sheet and mounted molding to it to serve as runners that will hold the matted photos in place. We then trimmed the edges of the board with molding and faux painted it to match the wall.
We then screwed the entire board to the wall and slid the matted photos into the board. We used standard size matts and 8×10 photos. The matts are square so that we can mix or match vertical and horizontal shots next to each other. We put a set of track lights above it to light it. It is really easy to change out the photos as my mood dictates when new favorites replace others.
I will send you a photo of the wall by email
I love the idea as it gives us all a chance to enjoy the photos, let’s us change them easily and it is a great conversation piece when folks come over.

Gorgeous!
Does Mpix print them photos exactly as you have cropped them? I need a new print place. I’ve been having trouble lately finding someone that doesn’t slightly enlarge and recrop my prints. It drives me outofmymind crazy — it’s especially noticeable if I have a Photoshopped border around a print.

That looks great! We’ve also admired M3’s photo wall and I’ve been meaning to do something similar but didn’t know if it would look as good with color photos. It does!
Maybe we’ll give it whirl. It’ll also give us a chance to try out the laser level Santa gave us last Christmas!
