Running update (50 & 51)

Posted by D under running

After peak week I somehow expected that running would feel easy, that I’d feel like I am relaxing, doing easier runs. Sadly, that hasn’t been the case at all. Many of the runs the past two weeks felt really tough.

Two weeks ago I did 4 miles on Tuesday, 8 miles (including speed training) on Wednesday, 3 miles on Thursday and 9 miles (instead of the scheduled 12) on Friday. I felt really weak on that run. The fact that I went to Tae Kwon Do 4 times that week and did my belt test might have had something to do with that. It was a lot of working out after all.

Saturday I flew to Tokyo where I did three runs: 3 miles on Monday, 5 miles tempo run on Wednesday and 2 miles really easy on Thursday. And today I ran 8 miles – feeling “ok” afterwards, but not nearly as strong as I though I should feel after such a short run.

This made September my fourth month in a row in which I ran more than 100 miles.

But there’s more running related news: my sister H1 ran a 10k race today and improved here own personal best by almost six minutes. That’s quite significant. Congratulations!
